On January 10, 1776, a small pamphlet was published in Philadelphia.
Just 47 pages in length, it is considered one of the most important books in the history of the United States of America. In the first three months, it sold over 120,000 copies. In the first year, more than 500,000 copies were sold.
In the pamphlet, Paine argues that the thirteen colonies should be free from Great Britain.
If you would like to understand American history, I would encourage to read the short pamphlet. I’ve put links to some more information about “Common Sense” and linked to a couple of websites that have complete versions of the pamphlet available for free.
