Thomas Sowell, an American economist, wrote book in 2000 called Basic Economics: A Common Sense Guide to the Economy.
One of the points he made in that book was the terrible consequences of decision-making in government when no one was held accountable for bad decisions.
He said it this way:
“It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”
Thomas Sowell
Think about that for a minute.
If a government official never gets in trouble for making terrible decisions even if it’s over and over and over, do you think that official will improve in their decision-making skills?
Or do you think bad decisions will just continue to be made?
