Isn’t it convenient to have a big government?
They decide what issues are important and what should be done about those issues.
That spares us so much worry.
When the government decides something … that’s it. We don’t have to worry about it anymore.
No further discussion is needed.
In fact, no further discussion is allowed.
But that’s okay. We’re not being overlooked or ignored.
The government needs our money to solve problems, so they come up with creative ways to take it from us.
Which brings us to our topic for this episode.
Gas Guzzlers
In case you haven’t been told, our cars are evil.
They are so evil the helpful, loving, all-caring government has decided that everyone in America will have to stop using gas guzzling cars and switch to planet-loving, gentle Electric Vehicles (EVs).
There is a tiny problem that must be overcome. Most Americans don’t want to switch to electric vehicles, and about half the current owners of EVs want to get rid of them.
EVs cost too much money, there is the problem of charging them, and then there’s that little, tiny problem that sometimes they ignite.
Other than those difficulties it’s a great plan the government has come up with.
In some areas, charging stations are hard to come by and often have long lines. If you want to take a long trip in your electric vehicle, you run the risk of running out of power before you reach your destination or a charging station.
What can be done?
I’m glad you asked.
We don’t have to do anything.
Our friendly, loving government took money from our pockets a couple of years ago, so that more charging stations would be built, so that everyone in America could switch over to electric vehicles.
I told you they cared.
They began their program back in November of 2021 and set out to build 500,000 (that’s half a million) charging stations so everyone in America would be able to drive an electric vehicle and keep it charged.
It only cost $7.5 billion dollars.
The government program is in full swing.
Since 2021, the government has built … eight charging stations.
Now Tesla has built more than 1,270 charging stations in just the last year with 12,400 individual charging stalls. But we can’t count on Tesla to solve the problem. After all, Elon is connected to Tesla, and who would you rather rely on — Elon or the kind, caring government.
Take that Elon!
So, the half million charging stations are on the way. They just might take a little longer than expected. But they’re coming.
Thanks to you and the money the government has taken from your pocket.
I’d like to conclude this episode with an observation by President Ronald Reagan.
Words from the “Gipper”
The nine most terrifying words in the English language are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”
President Ronald Reagan, August 12, 1986
I’m sure the government thanked you for your contribution to building a half million charging stations.
Let me add my thanks as well.
Before I go, I’d like to share a blessing with you from the Old Testament.
“May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord’s face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26 (The Living Bible)
Until next time … be the reason someone smiles today
